New Visitor Parking System Information
Newmarket, Ontario - January 23, 2006
You spoke…We listened!
In response to the needs of our customers, Southlake Regional Health Centre has installed a new visitor parking system! No longer will patients and visitors have to pay for parking up front, running the risk of paying for time that does not get used or having to leave an appointment to pay more for time that has run out. Now you pay for what you use – no more and no less. Here’s how the new system works…
| Step one: |
Approach the parking gate and either take a ticket or insert your credit card. The gate will open and you will be able to enter the parking lot. |
| Step two: |
Before you can exit the parking lot, you will need to take your parking ticket to one of Southlake’s pay stations. They are located at the:
- East Building main entrance
- Inside the Emergency Department
- Ground floor and Level P2 of the Parking Garage
- Along the Bridge spanning Davis Drive
- Visitor’s parking lot
|
| Step three: |
At the pay station, insert your parking ticket into Slot A and pay the amount shown on the screen. |
| Step four: |
Take your paid parking ticket back to your car, drive to the exit gate, and insert the paid ticket in order to lift the gates. Alternatively you can re-insert your credit card at the exit gate and the amount owing will automatically be charged.
If you have any difficulty using the system, just press the intercom button located at the entrance gates and a member of our parking team will be ready to assist you. |
Parking rates remain the same ($2.00 per half-hour or $10 per day). Paying the daily fee of $10.00 does not provide patients and visitors with “in and out” privileges, but weekly passes can be purchased at the parking office for $15.00 with a $5.00 down payment, which is refunded upon return of the pass. Monthly passes are also available for $50.00 with a $5.00 down payment. All proceeds are used to purchase much-needed medical equipment to help us better serve the health care needs of this community.
If you are coming to our Emergency Department
Due to the construction of our new six-storey parking structure, there is no longer visitor parking on the west side of the Hospital. Patients wishing to access the Emergency Department must park in the main visitor lot and walk outside to get to the Emergency Department (there is currently no access to the department within the hospital because of construction).
For patients who are not well enough to walk from the parking lot, Southlake is pleased to offer complimentary car parking assistance. To access this service, just drive up to the Emergency entrance and a parking representative will park your car and return your keys and parking ticket to you inside the department.
