- Air Handling
It is the responsibility of the Facility Operations Department to maintain proper operation of the Air Handling units as per CSA guidelines. Proper operation must ensure that ventilation and air quality are of the utmost priority. All units are to be inspected on a daily basis.
- Line Isolation monitoring:
High-risk areas of the hospital, which utilize electrical life support equipment, are serviced with isolated power systems. These areas include the operating and delivery rooms, the Ambulatory Day Care procedure room, the Emergency Trauma room and the ICU/CCU areas. To ensure continued performance of these systems, routine testing is completed on a quarterly schedule.
- Boiler Operations
The boilers are registered, operated and maintained under the T.S.S.A. and the Boiler and Pressure Vessel’s Act. Boiler inspections are performed internally and externally on an annual basis by the insurance inspector and periodically by the T.S.S.A. Repairs are made by the engineers and outside service providers when required.
- Cooling Towers:
Inspections and repairs are conducted as per CSA guidelines.
