Designed for Ontarios health-care community. With billions of dollars in net assets, the Hospitals of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) is one of the largest and most successful pension plans in Canada. In 1960, they were one of the first multi-employer plans. Today, HOOPP serves 148,000 active members who work at 336 health care and related organizations in Ontario. They also serve more than 72,200 pensioners.
HOOPP offers a defined benefit pension plan and supporting services. It provides eligible members with a lifetime pension based on their earnings history and service in the Plan.

Learning and Development
The hospital is committed to developing the intellectual
and emotional assets of staff. Courses, consultations and specific
interventions are designed for individual development, team development,
management development and to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
Tuition assistance, interest free loans are some of the ways in
which our employees are supported in their educational efforts.
A comprehensive orientation program is provided for all new employees.
Medical Benefits
An excellent health care plan which includes prescription drugs,
vision care and other features for all fulltime employees
at very competitive rates. Coverage for family members is
also available. You are eligible for this coverage after three
months of service. Part-time employees may join benefits through
the Health Care Provider Group.
Merchant Discounts
Special discounts for employees purchasing home and auto and travel
insurance, prescription drugs, paint, and many other items from
participating merchants are available immediately upon employment.
Occupational Health and Safety
Unit
On-site occupational health nurses provide health counseling
and other services such as vaccinations, flu and hepatitis
"B" shots.

Other Insurance
Life Insurance coverage in an amount double to your annual pay
is provided to eligible fulltime employees at no cost following
three months of employment. Dental insurance is available
to fulltime employees upon three months of employment. Long
term disability is available to fulltime employees after six months
of employment. Voluntary Life Insurance is available (at employee's
expense) for increased coverage at low, group rates. Semi private
hospital coverage is available at no cost to the fulltime employee.
Parking
On site hospital parking is available for staff at a cost of $40 per month. Offsite parking is also available at a cost of $35 per month.
Pharmacy Discount
Staff discount on some over the counter purchases. Fulltime
employees with benefits may have prescriptions filled and your insurance
company will be billed directly.

Resource Centre
A Health Sciences Resource Centre (library) is available for all
employees. Computer workstations provide Internet access and
CD Roms for learning and research purposes as well as a current
book and journal collection.
Savings Bonds (Canada)
Payroll deduction available for purchase of bonds.
Social Activities
A very active Social Activities Committee plans activities and
events throughout the year for the enjoyment of all staff.
An annual Staff Appreciation Day is held during the summer and
includes a free lunch as well as other forms of acknowledgement.
Wellness Program
A comprehensive on-site wellness program includes: Aqua
Fit Classes, Weight Watchers, Blood Pressure Checkup, Massage Therapy.
