Preoperative Diagnostic Tests
In preparation for your upcoming surgery, you may be required to have certain diagnostic tests performed. Your surgeon will determine which tests you may require during an office visit and give you the necessary requisitions to take with you. Not everyone needs to have the same tests performed.
You may be required to have some or all of the following:
- blood work
- Electro Cardiogram (ECG)
- chest X-ray
Laboratory Tests
It is recommended that you go to a LifeLabs Medical Laboratory for your tests to be performed. You will be required to bring a laboratory requisition from your doctor, as well as your Health Card.
ECG Tests
ECG tests are performed at Southlake in the Ambulatory Day Care area, Monday to Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Ambulatory Day Care is located in the East Building on Level 1. Please inquire at the Information Desk for directions.
You will be required to bring a requisition from your doctor, as well as your
Health Card.
Chest X-rays
X-rays are performed at Southlake, Monday to Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. in the Diagnostic Imaging Department located in the East Building, Level 2.
