About the Cancer Centre

One of the 13 regional programs funded by Cancer Care Ontario, the Central Regional Cancer Program operates across the Central Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) to provide residents of York Region, North York, and South Simcoe access to quality cancer services from prevention through survivorship and throughout the entire cancer journey.

The regional program oversees cancer care services at Southlake Regional Health Centre (Stronach Regional Cancer Centre), Mackenzie Health, North York General, Humber River Hospital, Stevenson Memorial Hospital and Markham-Stouffville Hospital. The Regional Cancer Program also provides public education on cancer prevention and raises awareness of the provincial screening guidelines for cervical, breast, and colorectal cancers.

Funded by Cancer Care Ontario, the Central Regional Cancer Program ensures cancer care is delivered according to province-wide quality standards, as close to home as possible.

A message for our patients - our practices at Southlake deliver the intended dose to our cancer patients and none of our patients have been impacted.

Cancer Care Ontario (CCO) has flagged a variation in processes when administering low volume, high concentration of three specific chemotherapy drugs which may lead to variation in the dose delivered to the patient.  Please click here for more information.
