Psychosocial Oncology & Palliative Care Program

The Psychosocial Oncology and Palliative Care Programs support cancer patients and their families to improve their quality of life. Tailored to an individual’s unique physical, emotional, spiritual and practical needs, a variety of supports are available throughout the course of an illness from diagnosis to the completion of treatment, as well as relapse and end-of-life care.


Services Offered
  • Pain and Symptom Management Clinic – focusing on improving overall wellbeing by treating symptoms such as pain, shortness of breath and anxiety
  • Psychosocial Oncology Assessment Clinic – focusing on rapid assessment of depression anxiety and strategies to cope with illness
  • Individual counseling appointments
  • Lymphedema Clinic
  • Group support programs are ongoing and may include:
    • Support group for newly diagnosed patients
    • Support group for caregivers
    • Transitions program for those completing their treatment
    • Support group for patients with relapsed or advanced cancer
    • Referral to bereavement groups
    • Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction

The team members have special training and expertise in Oncology within their specific fields.
