Maternal Child Program
Compassionate and responsive—two words that describe the service Southlake Regional Health Centre provides to every mother and baby through the Maternal Child Care Program.
We want the birthing experience to be exactly what the mother has imagined it to be. That is why our highly skilled
Maternal Child Care team works together to provide you with outstanding care to ensure your experience goes beyond all expectations. Our team is passionate about helping you build a strong and growing family, and offers specialized care that promotes informed choices, teamwork, and a healthcare plan that best suits the needs of your family.
As a Regional Level 2 Paediatric and Perinatal Centre serving York Region and south Simcoe County, Southlake provides exceptional healthcare close to home. We believe that all babies should have the best possible care, right from the very start. We strive to respect the individual needs of the many cultures we serve, and with compassionate and responsive care, we are ready to support you through your own personal journey.
Family/Support & Visitors Guidelines
No time restrictions
Children – no age restriction for siblings
2:00 – 8:00 p.m. (if not a partner)
Children – 12 years of age or older (if not a sibling of new baby)
Only two visitors are permitted at one time. Requests for exceptions will be considered by the healthcare team if it is deemed to be in the patient's best interest.
If your family and friends are ill, or have been in contact with an infectious disease, they should not visit the Hospital. The Maternal Child Program welcomes visits from siblings providing the children are well and have not been in contact with an infectious disease recently such as chicken pox, measles, etc. that they could possibly pass on to newborns.
