Can't find it?
Become a volunteer

To become a volunteer at Southlake you must:

  • Attend an Information Session
  • Complete an interview
  • Submit references and a clean police check  (vulnerable sector screening)
  • Complete a 2-step tuberculosis test
  • Attend a volunteer orientation session

*Note: Police Check and TB test not to be completed until after the interview.

We thank all of those who attend a Volunteer Information Sessions and will interview each person who chooses to submit an application. However, due to fluctuations in the requirements for volunteers and the personal time availability of those applying for positions, we cannot guarantee that every attendee will obtain a volunteer placement.

Why can't I just apply online?
Everyone who submits an application will be given an appointment for an interview. We feel that it is important that all interested volunteers have a true understanding of the commitment required to volunteer, the process involved in applying, and how volunteers fit into the hospital and Southlake Residential Care Village environments.

We offer information sessions twice a month to help you make an informed decision as to whether volunteering at Southlake is for you. Information packages, complete with application forms, are distributed at that time.

Volunteer information sessions
To register for a volunteer information session, call 905-895-4521, ext. 2104, or send an email to volunteers@southlakeregional.org.
