The Art Program
As a healing environment, Southlake understands the positive impact that artwork can have on people during times of stress and uncertainty. As a result, Southlake has made it a priority to acquire and display a gallery-worthy collection of artwork that follows the themes of wellness and nature.
Southlake's existing 500-piece art collection includes both original paintings and fine photographic works. The collection can be seen along the walls of high-traffic areas throughout the Hospital, the Stronach Regional Cancer Centre, and in the Medical Arts Building. Southlake's Art Program is also committed to supporting and promoting the arts within York Region and Simcoe County by featuring artwork created by local artists.
Eventually, Southlake hopes to introduce pieces into patient rooms and treatment areas. To support the Hospital's Art Program, Southlake encourages both monetary contributions, as well as acquisitions of artwork from art collectors, community residents, and local artists.
