Several clinics fall under the Medicine Clinics umbrella, including:

Depending on the care required, patients can be seen in these clinics by any of the following healthcare providers:

  • Internist (doctors who specialize in internal medicine)
  • Nurse Practitioner
  • Physiotherapist
  • Occupational Therapist
  • Nurses
  • Respiratory Therapists
  • Laboratory Technicians


Urgent Internal Medicine Clinic

  • Investigation and management of illnesses of internal medicine nature including urgent assessment for Deep Thrombosis (DVT), Pulmonary Embolism (PE), or Transient Ischemic Attack (T IA), etc. This clinic is not intended for treatment of acute situations such as acute abdominal or chest pain
  • Out-patient follow up of specific internal medicine issues that arose while the patient was admitted to Hospital
  • Consultation and management of medication related issues by clinical pharmacist

The clinic operates 5 days per week.

Hematology Clinic

  • Benign Hematology Investigation

 The clinic operates 3 days per week.

Geriatric Assessment Clinic (GAT)

  • Investigation and management of cognitive and behavioural abnormalities for patients 65 years of age or older
  • Support and education for patients, caregivers, and families by nurse specialists, occupational therapists, and clinical pharmacists

The clinic operates 2 days per week.

Thrombosis Clinic


  • Investigation and management of patients with suspected or documented Pulmonary Embolism (PE) or Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT);
  • Consultation for thrombophilia concerns;
  • Education, consultation, monitoring, and management of anticoagulant dosing by certified anticoagulation pharmacist

The clinic operates Mondays to Fridays as needed for urgent cases and on Thursdays for thrombosis follow-up.

Stroke Prevention Clinic

  • Investigation and management of Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA) and/or Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA) 
  • Primary and secondary prevention of stroke

The clinic operates 2 days per week.

Note: A physician’s referral is required for these clinics.
