The Diabetes Education Centre (DEC) provides education and support promoting self-management in adults with type 1, type 2, gestational diabetes, and prediabetes.

Our expert teams work together to provide individualized care to patients living with diabetes.
As part of a teaching hospital, we facilitate student placements, volunteers, job shadowing and conduct research.

Individual and group sessions for type 1, type 2 diabetes and prediabetes. Click here for more information on group sessions.

Diabetes care during pregnancy

Urgent clinic - an opportunity for patients to meet with an endocrinologist for assessment of urgent diabetes care needs (a physician's referral is required)

Insulin therapy initiation and adjustment (with referring physician orders)

Insulin pump therapy

Continuous blood glucose monitoring – training and support for patients using insulin pump therapy

Social work appointments

Psychiatrist appointments

Weight management workshops

Exercise and resistance training workshops
Services are offered in English, Cantonese, Farsi, Hebrew, Hungarian, and Mandarin.
