Improved conditioning through restoring and increasing muscle strength.

Increased independence through improving your physical fitness and cultivating confidence to carry out activities of daily
living.

Improved sleep through promoting regular exercise for a natural and restorative sleep.

Stress Reduction through increasing natural painkillers in the blood and reducing strain on the body.

Peer Support and Well Being through exercising in an encouraging and social setting with others coping with similar conditions.

The Unique Advantages of Aquatic Therapy

Buoyancy — floating in water allows you to exercise with up to 90 percent of body weight removed. This dramatically
decreases painful joint compressive forces and fear of falling.

Temperature — the warmth of the water results in relaxation and pain reduction by inhibiting pain pathways.

Turbulence— the ever changing flow of the water imparts safe and gentle forces on the body to help improve your balance and core stability.

Viscosity — the “thickness” of the water allows for gentle and progressive resistance to aquatic exercise. Hydrostatic

Pressure — the pressure exerted on your body when it is submerged in the aquatic environment. While exercising, this pressure can assist with the return of blood from your legs to your heart.
