Job Summary:

The Occupational Therapist provides hand therapy services and expertise to plastics and orthopaedic patients referred to the Hand Program from the Fracture Clinic, Emergency Dept. or physician offices.



Qualifications:

  • Graduate from a recognized university Occupational Therapy Program

  • Two years current occupational therapy experience required

  • Registration with the College of Occupation Therapists of Ontario (COTO)

  • Commitment to client centred care

  • Current rehab/patient care experience

  • Demonstrated skill and interest in working with people who are challenged by physical, developmental, emotional, perceptual and cognitive difficulties

  • A commitment to developing an individual’s optimum level of independence, restoring function and maintaining ability

  • Possess an attitude of respect and sensitivity towards clients with varied backgrounds, abilities and educational status

  • Demonstrates excellence in communication, both written and verbal

  • Analysis / problem assessment

  • Innovative and willing to learn

  • Commitment to customer service and teamwork

  • Demonstrates individual leadership skills

  • Proven ability to attend work regularly as per the Attendance Support Policy #HA30 and Procedure #HA35.
