Our 16 bed Post Partum unit offers a family-centred approach to labour, birth, and post-partum care, including specialized monitoring for high risk pregnancies, a prenatal clinic for mothers without a family doctor, prenatal education and tours. As York Region’s designated Centre for Paediatric and Perinatal Care, our NICU operates as a Level 2c nursery.


  • RPN Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario required
  • Recent working experience (within the last 3 years) on a Maternal Child Unit required
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Certificate (NRP) or willing to obtain within 3 months of hire date
  • BCLS Certificate required
  • Education in breast feeding preferred
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Demonstrates excellence in communication, both written and verbal
  • Analysis / problem assessment
  • Innovative and willing to learn
  • Commitment to customer service and teamwork
  • Demonstrates individual leadership skills
  • Proven ability to attend work regularly as per the Attendance Support Policy #HA30 and Procedure #HA35
