Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse exemplifies the standards of nursing practice as defined by:

  • The College of Nurses (January 1996), which is described in the six core professional standards: professional service to the public, knowledge, application of knowledge, ethics, continued competence and professional behaviour, accountability/responsibility.

    Qualifications:

  • RN Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario

  • Current BCLS & ACLS required

  • Successful completion of a recognized Critical Care Course or equivalent experience in critical care

  • 3-5 years recent critical care nursing experience

  • Ability to interpret 12 lead ECG

  • Recent experience working in a Cardiac Catheterization Lab

  • Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation

  • Recent experience working in a cardiac catheterization lab performing angiogram and angioplasty procedures.

  • Recent experience working in the scrub, circulating and monitoring role within a procedural area.

  • Ability to use electronic computer documentation systems, including MACLAB, PCI teamworks and Centricity

  • Ability to use Cath. Lab computer documentation

  • Computer skills (comfort level with computer and electronic documentation)

  • Demonstrates excellence in communication, both written and verbal

  • Analysis / problem assessment

  • Innovative and willing to learn

  • Commitment to customer service and teamwork

  • Demonstrates individual leadership skills

  • Proven ability to attend work regularly as per the Attendance Support Policy #HA30 and Procedure #HA35.
