We are seeking a Regular Part-Time Certified Clinical Anaesthesia Assistant to work in the Eye Institute.  This position involves working as an Anesthesia Assistant in the Eye Institute for up to 0.6FTE.  Anesthesia Assistants (AA) are health care professionals, either RN or RRT that are specially
trained to provide preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative patient care and assessment  under supervision and immediate availability of an anesthesiologist through the use of Medical Directives and Pre-printed order sets

·         A Registered Respiratory Therapist or Registered Nurse registered in good standing with the relevant Professional College
·         A graduate of an Accredited Anesthesia Assistant Program, certification as a Clinical Anaesthesia Assistant preferred or required within 12 months of hire
·         BCLS and ACLS Certificate required.
·         Knowledge of Anesthesiology, basic hemodynamic principles and Anesthesia equipment to be operated.
·         Multi-service operating room experience within the last 2 years is required
·         Ability to perform without direct supervision
·         Demonstrates excellence in communication, both written and verbal
·         Innovative approach to analysis and problem-solving  
·         Demonstrated evidence of continuing education
·         Commitment to customer service and teamwork
·         Demonstrates individual leadership skills
·         Proven ability to attend work regularly as per the Attendance Support Policy #HA30 and Procedure #HA35.
