Job Summary:
The Registered Practical Nurse works within the Standards of Nursing practice as laid down by the College of Nurses, the Regulated Health Professional Act, July 1996, Regulations, the Nursing Act (Bill 57) and the Guidelines of Ethical Behaviour, policies and practices of the Hospital.


  • Current RPN certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario

  • Certificate of competence in BCLS

  • Certification in Rehabilitation and/or Orthopaedic Nursing preferred

  • Demonstrates knowledge and skill in rehabilitation and/or orthopaedics

  • Recent experience in surgical and/or rehabilitation nursing preferred

  • Member of Rehab Nurses Interest Group (RNIG) and/or Association of Rehabilitation Nurses (ARN) and/or Canadian Orthopaedic Nurses Association (CONA)j preferred

  • Commitment to customer service and teamwork

  • Demonstrates excellence in communication, both written and verbal

  • Analysis / problem assessment

  • Innovative and willing to learn

  • Commitment to customer service and teamwork

  • Demonstrates individual leadership skills
