Jonathan Harris
Chair

Jonathan Harris is the President of Medike Branding Solutions and the current Chair of Southlake Regional Health Centre's Board of Directors. Jonathan has served on the Board since 2009. As the former Chair of the Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation Board, Jonathan led the Foundation during the successful Southlake "Count on Me Campaign" which raised $64.8 million for the Stronach Regional Cancer Centre.

Colette Nemni is the founder and principal of Colette Nemni Conflict Resolution Services. She has been a member of the Southlake Regional Health Centre Board of Directors since 2011, serving on the People Committee of the Board and Finance & Property Committee; over the past three years, Colette has served as Chair of the Board Committee on Quality as well as Vice-Chair of the Board. Since 2015, Colette has been a member of the Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation Board working with the strategy and planning committee. 
Colette holds a law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School and is called to the Ontario Bar and recently received her ICD.D designation from The Rotman School of Business. Her previous work includes Senior Vice-President and Head of Human Resources at Bell Canada as well as Head of Human Resources, North America Division for Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide Inc.

Paul Roberts was elected to the Southlake Regional Health Centre Board of Directors in 2011. In his years as a member, Paul has served as Treasurer of the Board, Chair of the Finance & Property Committee and a member of the Audit and Board IT Advisory Committees. He has also served as a member of the Foundation's Finance & Investment Committee.

Paul is a partner of Lipton LLP Chartered Accountants. He has a diverse portfolio of clients in a wide range of industries – including retail, manufacturing, real estate, construction, insurance, financial services, and emerging knowledge-based industries.

Dr. Dave Williams
Secretary of the Board

Canadian astronaut and physician Dr. Dave Williams is the President and CEO of Southlake Regional Heath Centre and Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Toronto. Prior to joining Southlake, Dr. Williams was the Director of the McMaster Centre for Medical Robotics at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton and Professor in the Department of Surgery of the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine from 2008 to 2011. He also held the position of Chief Medical Officer of Quality and Safety at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton from 2010 to 2011.

Dr. Williams brings to his role at Southlake an innovative and unique perspective on how to improve the overall patient experience. Dr. Williams believes strongly that the development and marketing of commercialized, innovative solutions—whether it be process solutions, software development or medical device creation—is the key to redefining the healthcare sector and enhancing our economy. Areas of keen interest for Dr. Williams and the Southlake team include safety and quality, precision diagnostics and therapeutics, clinical informatics, and computer assisted surgery.

Dr. Edward Chan
Vice-President, Medical Staff Association

Dr. Edward Chan joined the Southlake Department of Emergency Medicine as a Courtesy Staff member in 2008 and then joined the Active Staff in 2010. Dr. Chan has been the Vice President of the Medical Staff Association since July 2012 and is currently the Physician Leader of the Emergency Program.
 
He completed his medical degree at the University of Ottawa and Family Medicine Residency at the University of Toronto. He holds a certification in Emergency Medicine through the Canadian College of Family Physicians. Dr. Chan has held positions in Kirkland Lake, Orillia Soldier’s Memorial and Royal Victoria Hospital, and St. Joseph's Health Centre.
Geoff Dawe
 
 
Mayor Geoff Dawe
Director

Mayor Dawe is currently serving his second term as Mayor of the Town of Aurora, being first elected in 2010. During this time Mayor Dawe has served on the Southlake Regional Health Centre Board of Directors. 

Since 2010 Mayor Dawe has served on the Board of Directors of the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority and has been Vice-Chair since 2013. He also represents the LSRCA on the Conservation Ontario Council, the umbrella organization for Ontario’s 36 Conservation Authorities.
Debra Dowson

Director

Debra Dobson has served on the Southlake Regional Health Centre Board since 2011. During this time she has been a member of the Audit Committee, Board Committee on Quality and the Board IT Advisory Committee; she is also a member of the Southlake Residential Care Village Board (LTC). 

Debra holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering from Queen’s University as well as an MBA from the University of Toronto in Financial Engineering and Strategy. Currently Debra is the Director of Strategic Development at Danaher Corporation where she is responsible for identifying and driving conviction on M&A targets and strategic planning across Danaher businesses.

Director

Mike Downs is a Senior Vice President with Connor, Clark and Lunn Private Capital. He has served on the Southlake Regional Health Centre Board of Directors since 2013, and is a member of the Audit and Finance & Property committees. He has more than 24 years’ experience in discretionary investment management, tax and estate planning and Not-for-Profit organizations. Mike graduated from the University of Western Ontario and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Investment Management (CIM) designations.
Tim Hamill

Tim Hammill currently serves as the Chair of Southlake's Community Awareness Committee. He has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2012. As a professional in the financial services industry, Tim has served as both a senior officer and division head of major international firms, both in Canada and the U.S. He has held several Board positions on both public and private Boards and Associations.


Patrick Horgan

Pat Horgan is currently the Vice President, Manufacturing, Development and Operations for IBM Canada. He has been a member of the Southlake Regional Health Centre Board of Directors since 2014, serving on the Board IT Advisory committee. 

He currently leads the business operations for IBM Canada including CIO, Supply Chain, Real Estate, Procurement, Corporate Citizenship and Government Programs. Pat is a member of many Boards, as well as holding positions on the Canadian Council of Aboriginal Business, the Ontario Brain Institute and NRC Emerging Technologies.

Annette Jones

Annette Jones
Chief Nursing Officer

Annette Jones is currently the Vice President, Patient Experiences and Chief Nursing Officer and Professional Practice at Southlake Regional Health Centre. In her role as Chief Nursing Officer, Annette has been a member of the Southlake Board of Directors since 2011. 

Annette joined Southlake as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the Mental Health Program in 1990 and from there she has increased her responsibilities in roles of Manager, Director, and for the past 12 years she has held the position of Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer. Annette also held the position of President and CEO of Stevenson Memorial Hospital from 2011 to 2013.
Jim Lovie

Jim Lovie has been a member of the Southlake Regional Health Centre Board of Directors since 2011. Jim is currently Chair of the People Committee of the Board, as well as a member of the Finance & Property Committee and the Board IT Advisory Committee. From 2008 to 2010, Jim served as Chair of the Southlake Foundation Board. He has an extensive background in information technology and communications with over 20 years experience in senior executive roles for Xerox, Bell and Rogers Communications.

Dr. Beatty

Dr. Steven Beatty 
Chief of Staff

Dr. Steven Beatty joined Southlake in 1987 as a full-time Plastic Surgeon in the Department of Surgery. Since then, he has held a number of administrative positions including: Chief of Surgery, member of the Medical Staff Executive, Physician Leader for the Musculoskeletal (MSK) Program, Head of the Division of Plastic Surgery, and in 2011 was appointed Physician Leader for the Surgical Program. Dr. Beatty is also an active member of the Medical Advisory Committee.

Dr. Beatty completed his Doctor of Medicine and his Plastic Surgery Residency at the University of Toronto and a one-year Fellowship in Hand and Peripheral Nerve Surgery at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and St. Michael's Hospital.

Kathy Proudfoot has been a member of the Southlake Regional Health Centre Board of Directors since 2009. During this time she has been a member of the Community Awareness Committee, Finance & Property Committee, Board Committee on Quality and the Governance Committee. She served as Community Chair for Southlake's Cancer Centre Campaign, as well as serving as a peer support convenor for the Canadian Cancer Society and a member of the Pal Care Network York Region.

Kathy has served on the Board of Directors for the Nin Os Kim Ton and the Ranji Singh Foundation and is currently in real estate sales.

Dr. John Randle 
President, Medical Staff Association

Dr. John Randle joined Southlake Regional Health Centre in 2001 as a full time Orthopaedic Surgeon in the Department of Surgery.  He was the Division Head of Orthopaedic Surgery for six years before becoming the Vice President of the Medical Staff Association in 2008.  He has been the President of the Medical Staff Assocation since July 2012 and a member of the Hospital Board of Directors and Medical Advisory Committee since 2008.
 
Dr. Randle attended medical school at the University of Toronto, where he completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery in 1998. He has subspecialty fellowship training through the Arthroscopy Associate of North America in shoulder reconstruction surgery specializing in arthroscopic procedures. In addition, he performed a post doctoral fellowship and was on active staff at the University of Calgary prior to joining Southlake.
Dennis Roughley

Dennis Roughley

Dennis Roughley is the current Chair of the Audit Committee and has been a member of the Southlake Regional Health Centre Board of Directors since 2007. He has held positions on the Finance & Property Committee, Governance Committee and the Stronach Cancer Care Clinic Oversight Committee. Dennis' experience includes serving with the Royal Canadian Air Force and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, as well as Professor/Coordinator of the Justice and Public Safety Institute at Georgian College.

Dennis spent 25 years in local government in Simcoe County serving as a Councillor and Deputy Mayor of Bradford West Gwillimbury and Councillor of Simcoe County. He was a member of many local committees and Boards, including Human Services, the Simcoe Muskoka District Board of Health, York Simcoe Health Council and the Advisory Committee to the Central Local Health Integration Network.
John Sabo

John Sabo has been a member of the Southlake Regional Health Centre Board of Directors since 2014, currently serving as a member of the Governance, Audit and the Community Awareness committees.

John is the President & CEO of OECM, a not-for-profit broader public sector group procurement organization serving the Education sector in Ontario. Prior to joining OECM John was the Treasurer and Associate Director for the York Catholic District School Board. John is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA-CA) and has earned master’s degrees in Financial Accountability (M.FAc), and Education Administration (M.Ed.). He also holds Chartered Director (C.Dir.) and Audit Committee Certified (A.C.C.) designations.
Stacie Stanton

Stacie Stanton was appointed to the Hospital Board in 2013 and is currently serving as Chair of the Governance Committee. She has sat on numerous Boards in various positions including past-Chair of The Country Day School Board and is presently serving on the Southlake Foundation Board and the King City Cemetery Board. She has engaged in Board leadership, strategy development and volunteer fundraising for non-profit organizations for more than 20 years. Since 2010, she has been the Editor of the Quebec Chronicle-Telegraph, North America’s oldest continuously running newspaper. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (BComm) degree from Queen’s University and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from Osgoode Hall Law School.
Tony Van Bynen

Mayor Van Bynen is currently serving in his third consecutive term as Mayor of the Town of Newmarket and has served as an elected representative for the Town for the past 15 years. Mayor Van Bynen has been a member of the Southlake Regional Health Centre’s Board of Directors since 2007 and has served on the Finance & Property Committee during this time.

In addition to his involvement on the Southlake Regional Health Centre Board of Directors, he was a founding Director of the Newmarket Chamber of Commerce and Smart Commute Central York, as well as a founding member of the Belinda’s Place Women’s Shelter. Prior to his work in public service, Mayor Van Bynen worked in the banking industry at RBC for more than thirty years.
Dave Wattling

Chair, Board of Directors, Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation

Dave is the Vice-President and General Manager at TELUS Health responsible for the company's business with its largest health clients. He has been a member of the Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation board since 2013 and was elected board chair in January 2016.

He is passionate about advancing the adoption of health information solutions by healthcare providers and consumers alike in order to improve the health of Canadians and the sustainability of our treasured healthcare system. Dave is a committed volunteer dedicating his time and energy to building strong communities and industries. He was the founding chair of ITAC-Health, the Canadian association of Health ICT firms, and is a member of CATA's National Leadership Council. In recognition of his community building work, in 2012 Dave was bestowed with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal honouring significant contributions and achievements by Canadians.
