Terry Kuula, Chief Financial Officer at Southlake Regional Health Centre, joined Southlake (then York County Hospital) more than 23 years ago. Over the past two decades, he has held various positions within the Hospital, including Director of Finance, Acting Director of Medicine Programs, Manager of Financial Planning, and Manager of Budgets.

A graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University with an Honours Degree in Business Administration, Terry’s financial responsibilities have extended beyond Southlake over the years. From 2005 to 2006, he was seconded to the Central East Regional Office of the Ministry of Health to conduct balanced budget reviews on area hospitals. Recently, he has been the financial lead on two peer reviews of hospitals in Ontario. Terry is additionally accountable for the development of the Hospital Annual Planning Submission (HAPS) and the Hospital Service Accountability Agreement (H-SAA) between Southlake and the Central Local Health Integration Network (LHIN).

Since October 2007, Terry has been a member of Southlake’s senior administration team as Associate Vice President, and in December 2008, was appointed Vice President of Finance, Health Information and Decision Support. His role in this capacity supports all areas of the Hospital’s finances, including cash management, asset management, and statutory financial commitments. As recently as September 2012, Terry has been appointed as Interim Chief Financial Officer of Stevenson Memorial Hospital in Alliston.

Terry sits on the Board of Directors of the Central Ontario Health Procurement Alliance, representing Southlake as one of the founding member hospitals within the shared service organization and has been recently appointed to the Board of Directors of Booth Centennial Healthcare Linen Services.

Terry joined the Senior Administration team of Southlake Regional Health Centre in October of 2007 as an Associate Vice President and in December of 2008, naturally shifted into the role of Vice President of Finance. Over the span of a 23 year career at Southlake, Terry has held a number of roles including: Director of Finance, Acting Director Medicine Programs, Manager Financial Planning, and Manager of Budgets. In 2005/06, Terry was seconded to the Central
East Regional office of the Ministry of Health to conduct Balanced Budget reviews on area hospitals. Recently, he has been the financial lead on two Operational and Peer reviews of hospitals in Ontario. Prior to Southlake, Terry held the position of Manager, Operations Analysis at Memorex Canada. Terry is a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University and holds an Honoursdegree in Business Administration.

Terry is responsible for leadership of the finance portfolio and supply distribution. Within these areas, Terry supports the development of the Hospital Annual Planning Submission (HAPS) and the Hospital Service Accountability Agreement (H-SAA) between Southlake and the Central Local Health Integration Network (CLHIN). His role also supports all areas of the Hospital’s finances including cash management, asset management, and statutory financial commitments.

Terry sits on the Board of Directors of the Central Ontario Health Procurement Alliance (COHPA) as an equity and founding member hospital within the shared service organization
