Recovery and Wellness Day Programs
The Recovery and Wellness Day Programs are one of the Adult Mental Health
Outpatient programs. The programs follow
a psycho educational model and are services are offered in a group
setting. The focus of the programs is
to enable clients to rediscover their strengths, learn to build healthy coping
skills and manage stress, as well as discovering how to access community
resources. The Recovery program is a
half day program suitable for clients who are recently diagnosed with a serious
mental illness or those who are struggling with a chronic recurring serious
mental health issue. The Wellness
Program is a full day program.
- Clients must be 18 years of age or older
- Clients must have a psychiatric diagnosis
according to the DSM-IV TR
- Clients who require intensive support and
education about their illness, and strategies to maintain good mental health.
- Clients who are able to commit to attend
Recovery or Wellness on a regular basis.
This Program is Not
- Client has a primary diagnosis of
- Client has a primary diagnosis of organic
- Client is actively suicidal or homicidal at the
time of the referral
Referrals are accepted from Physicians, Psychiatrists, other
Mental Health Services in the Department of Psychiatry and community workers by
using an Adult Out-patient Referral Form. Once completed, all referrals
are processed by the Intake RN and clients are contacted directly.
