Community Treatment Order Program
A community treatment order is a six-month treatment agreement which facilitates an intensive community-based care plan for individuals with a serious mental illness. The focus of the agreement is to provide
support, case management, maintain wellness, and reduce hospitalization.
The treatment agreement is voluntary and
treatment orders can be renewed after the six-month period.
The patient must have had at least 2 admissions in the last
3 years or an admission of 30 days or more in the past 3 years.
The patient must have a serious mental health illness such
as schizophrenia, major mood disorder, etc.,and the patient and/or
their Substitute Decision Maker must consent to the treatment
The Community Treatment Order coordinator receives all referrals both from
the community and hospital. The primary contact number for all
