Adult Crisis Intervention Program
The Adult Crisis Program is a multi-disciplinary team of
healthcare professionals, that includes Social Workers, Nurses, and Psychiatrists, who support
individuals and families in times of crisis.
Access to the Adult Crisis Team is available through the following:
The Adult Crisis Team provides 24 hour-a-day, 7 day-a-week
consultation services to adults who are 18 years of age or older, and who are
in psychiatric and/or psychosocial distress.
With a physician referral (family physician, specialist or
walk-in clinic), the Adult Crisis Team will provide rapid outpatient assessment
and short-term counseling to clients who are in crisis (4 sessions).

The Adult Crisis Team provides triage, assessment, crisis intervention and
treatment planning for clients within the hospital setting who are in acute crisis state.
The team will work with clients:
- to help stabilize them in order to prevent
- to help them to decrease harmful behaviours
- to strengthen and build support networks
- to provide recommendations for follow-up
treatment and facilitate referrals to other community or hospital
